Wordless Wednesday -

Today's Tuesday - Admiral's new decorations

Soooo as you may or may not know, over the weekend somebody decided it would be hilarious to plant 26 marijuana plants in a perfect row along the side of the street. I'll put the link to the Times Colonist article at the bottom of the post. Anyhoo, I think this is fantastic. Nobody knows who did it, when they did it, or why hey did it. All they know is some person (or people) planted 26 illegal plants in a perfectly straight line, at some point on the weekend. Now, let me put myself in the shoes of the planter for a minute. My motivation would be to see just how long I takes somebody to notice. And if I had time and money, I might even set up a hidden camera somewhere just to see what happens. It's possible they were trying to make a statement, maybe about legalizing pot or something, but I don't know... I think there are more effective ways to do that. Although, this story did make the news, and it's funny, and people tend to remember funny stuff, so maybe he planted seeds of thought as well as seeds of pot. I think it's good that they removed the plants, but don't think it's necessary for them to be destroyed. There are places, even within the city, that can use marijuana for medical purposes. I suppose it's possible that the plants do not meet requirements for that, but it sounds like they didn't even look into it. Maybe they just don't want to encourage more people to plant it in public places (or private, for that matter).

As promised, the link to the article:

Meaningless Monday - A

Always agree absentmindedly; arguing about allusions and arbitrarily amending answers ails anybody. Affectionately abiding around allusive artists agitates annoying activists. Adieu.

Whacky Weekend - Craziness...

My life is way too busy... This weekend alone (Saturday and Sunday, only two days) I had 24.5 hours of paid labour. That's more than half the time for anything on the weekend, including necessities like eating and sleeping. And that time does not take into account unpaid lunches, and transit to/from jobs. Being a numbers guy, I have no choice but to figure out that all work related time (working, breaks [paid and unpaid], transit, etc.) for me this weekend totals to about 28 hours..... Believe it or not, I've never actually figured those numbers out before for a weekend, but it's like that almost every weekend for me. Yet here I am committing to a blog... I must be going insane. Is it possible to get an official diagnosis based purely on a blog post? I hope not. That could make me depressed and insane in just two days. And now ADD as well. I've completely changed topics. I guess that's what whacky weekends are going to look like. A sort of stream of consciousness. Hopefully this is more coherent than meaningless Mondays will be. Otherwise I'd have to switch them, and meaningless weekends and whacky Mondays does not sound nearly as good. Well, in my opinion at least. And this is my blog, so it's only my opinion that matters! Unless.. Well... I guess you could comment with your opinions.. I'm not really sure what sort of an opinion you could have on this particular rambling of a post. I think that's enough for now. Early morning tomorrow, so I should probably sleep at least a little bit. Goodnight Internet!

Fracking Friday - Busses

Oh Victoria, how I wish you could figure out a way to keep your bus drivers on time.  Being late is one thing.  There's not always a way to prevent that, so I do have patience for it.  What I don't have patience for is early busses.  If the bus is supposed to arrive at 7:44am, and I get to the bus stop before 7:40, I should make that bus.  Seems like common sense, right?  Apparently it's not.  I've had this happen several times, and let me tell you, it does nothing to remove stress from my life, which is stressful enough.  Especially on days when I have less than 2 hours between a gardening job and a restaurant job.  It's not easy to fit in all the necessities as it is, and the unreliable busses really don't do anything to help.  I don't ever want to run to work or phone home for a ride again.  I don't pay $85/month for that.

It's a shame that my first themed day is a rant...  Everybody's going to think I'm a really cynical person. I assure you I'm not, but if you don't believe me I guess you'll just have to wait and see for yourself.
